The She Has A Name Film Team is proud to announce that Vanessa Toh is playing the role of Mae in the film adaptation of the critically acclaimed stage play by Andrew Kooman.
Ms. Toh, is a Singapore-based actress and graduate from LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore with a first-class BA (Hons) Acting degree in 2015.
Vanessa’s stage work includes Sarah Ruhl’s In The Next Room, Liao Yimei’s Rhinoceros in Love, Botho Strauss’s Seven Doors, Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda and William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and the Dreamtime. Vanessa television work with Mediacorp in Singapore, includes Rojak, Incredible Tales and Crimewatch.
Shot in Thailand, She Has A Name is a dramatic thriller. The film focuses on an investigation into a trafficking incident in South East Asia and explores the layers of corruption, globally, that enable the illegal sex trade to thrive.
The film is being directed by Matthew and Daniel Kooman from a screenplay by Andrew Kooman. The Kooman brothers along with Donna Abraham and Shari Aspinall are producing. Lance Kadatz is Executive Producer.
