Matthew Kooman
Director, Producer, Editor
Matthew is a creative entrepreneur, pursuing remarkable stories and creating well crafted film. A co-founder of Unveil Studios Matt continues to pursue remarkable stories and well crafted film. Matt works as a director, editor and producer for Unveil.
She Has A Name is Matthew Kooman’s second feature film at the director’s helm. Passionate about the art of telling a good story, from original concept to the screen, Matt’s journey as a filmmaker has taken him inside straw huts in rural Kenya, to squatter pipe-villages in Hyderabad, India while directing and producing his first feature film, E for Everyone. As editor of The Ladder of My Life Matt told the true story of a child soldier from Sudan who against all odds, after 20 years, returned to help rebuild his country.
Andrew Kooman
Writer, Producer, Web
Andrew works in words, writing stories that challenge and inspire audiences for the page, stage and the screen. A co-founder of Unveil Studios, he also works as a producer for Unveil.
Andrew adapted his award-winning stage play She Has A Name to the screen; the film is his feature screenwriting debut. His other plays, including the critically acclaimed We Are the Body, have been produced across Canada and in the United States, including Off-Broadway in New York City. Select work is distributed in the United States by Skit Guys.
Andrew co-executive produced the feature E for Everyone. His writing has been published around the world and translated into more than 10 languages.
Daniel Kooman
Director, Producer, Editor
Driven to tell stories that challenge and inspire, Daniel is a co-founder of Unveil Studio. He has traveled to more than 25 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America to document stories and works as a cinematographer, editor and director for Unveil.
Filmmaking has become a unique platform for Daniel to invest in children, empowering orphans in Tanzania and restoring hope to girls trafficked in Thailand. Daniel has worked as both director and editor on The Story, A Filmmaker’s Search for Revival and the documentary Africa Sing Me Your Song. The Story was his feature film directorial debut. . She Has A Name is his second feature film. His new short documentary This Is Inala is currently playing the 2017 film festival circuit and was the first ever film to be screened in Tabora, Tanzania.
