E for Everyone: The Mouse and the Elephant

 

Synopsis: Joel, a psychology student, sets out to film a documentary about the different ways people from developed and developing nations seek true happiness. He convinces his best friend Steve to accompany him as a camera man on his journey to Kenya, India and Thailand.  They are shocked, saddened and angered as they document drought, hunger, the untouchables’ struggle for empowerment and the AIDS epidemic first hand.

But they also see a beautiful side of humanity, one that can go on with humour, perseverance and faith in the midst of suffering, inequality and oppression.Along the way, they cannot help also documenting their own journeys of awakening and change. Joel and Steve discover that the only way to build a new world is to shatter an old one.
