How can you go to Cambodia and not take in a world heritage site? You can’t.
We joined many hundreds of other tourists on the impressive site, walking its steep steps and marvelling at the 12th century artisanship on display.
We had a really meaningful time of reflection as a group in the ancient temple. It was an important processing time in what has been, so far, a whirlwind experience: a time to pause and ponder.
Something that we were struck by was the beauty on display through detailed craftsmanship. The hard work of so many hands. The value, all these years later, that the work is given, that it demands. As a studio we want to create art that stands the test of time.
What was most striking to us as we took it all in is the “How much more?” question. This building, this wonder of the world, is such a treasure. How much more, then, is the treasure of a single human life, each of us a temple so fearfully, wonderfully made?
