playwright

more of late i’ve been itching to write for the stage.  an idea popped into my head during a worship time at an alive service for a play about grace.  in the last week i’ve been pounding out words onto the page to meet a deadline for scriptsatwork.  the script might enlarge or expand over time, but the submission guidelines asked for a maximum of thirty pages, and i was happy to comply.
the play is called shelter, and it examines two close families whose lives are effected by the engagement of their children, the critical illness of a son, and a secret affair against the backdrop of their partnership to answer some of the homeless problem in alberta.
it was a cool experience, and i want to write more.  a quick trip out to rosebud this week with my housemates to see friends act on the main stage and in the studio productions of st. nick’s magical, mystical, mystery tour and cry of the wolf (respectively) were great fun given the context of my headspace and writing zone.
